The Fairmont San Francisco Wedding | Nicole Taylor Events | Ashley + Justin

This day…this couple!

I knew when Ashley first reached out that we were going to connect and get along – I was right! Ashley and Justin got married in the spring at The Fairmont in San Francisco.  Situated atop Nob Hill, this historic and iconic venue holds a particularly special place in my heart, as it’s where I also tied the knot almost 8 years ago.  I knew from talking to Ashley that she was going to be a dream to work with and on top of that, her vision was an absolute dream.

The Planning

Ashley described her “dream day” as elegant and classic with good vibes and an amazing guest experience.  She had a vision in her mind and wanted to find someone she could trust to bring that vision to life.  Trusting someone else to handle your vision can be so hard. Thankfully, Ashley knew she could trust me and man, am I glad she did!

Every detail that we planned together was a part of the overall goal: an elegant, glamorous affair with an amazing guest experience to match! The views of the city during the rooftop ceremony, the jazz trio that serenaded guests during cocktail hour, the personalized stationery, and the custom neon photo booth sign all tied together the most amazing day.

The Wedding Day

To set the scene for their special day, Ashley and Justin chose the historic Fairmont Hotel.  This space has the best views of the city, an amazing lobby, and an overall sense of elegance that played heavily into the vibe of the day.  To add to the glamor, Ashley + Justin chose to do their first look at The Legion of Honor: a museum with a stunning exterior and a grandness to match.  Every part of their day was captured perfectly by Troy Meikle Photography.

A Day to Remember

This couple is so near and dear to me.  More than the details and the decor, I want to make sure that every couple that plans with me feels special and heard.  Justin had recently suffered the loss of his brother before their wedding day…something that I unfortunately could relate to as I had lost my brother a few months prior.  I was able to bring a unique perspective to the planning itself and the challenges that grief plays when planning your day.  I never want to be the planner that is there to “do a job”.  I want to figure out what you want, what you need, and be sensitive to your needs!

As Ashley described the process, “she wasn’t there to just tick off boxes, but she put thought and heart into it”.  This is ultimately my end goal! Yes, it’s to make sure you have the day of your dreams.  But the ultimate “win” is when you have the experience to match (and the bonus of building lasting relationships with my couples)!

Are you ready to start planning your dream day?

I want my own dream wedding!
